We have a lot on the schedule for
today. First off we go and have our new trailer tires fitted. It all
goes smoothly and super quick. Pleased with our shiny new tires we
stock up on groceries and petrol and get rid of our recycling.
One thing we learned on this trip is
that recycling requires a bit of effort while you are travelling.
Most campgrounds do not recycle and a lot of towns and cities do not
recycle either.
We change our course to due north! It
really gives us the feeling we are starting on the last leg of the
trip.
We wind through a pass in the mountains
surrounding LA. As we exit the National Forest the land becomes very
flat with lots of low bushes and the occasional Joshua Tree.
It becomes a bit of a boring drive, but
at least we get a good distance on our new tires. As we get further
north the landscape becomes more barren and the mountains more
rugged. We find a spot for the night on public land amongst volcanic
rocks and sand.
