Day 96 - Fri 1 Nov 2019 - Angel Oak Tree, Tea Plantation

Lots to see and do today. First off we stop at the Angel Oak Tree which is estimated to be 300-400 years old. It is absolutely beautiful although we have some mixed feelings about the number of supports that have been added to keep the tree up... Still, a phenomenal sight. The branches are actually hollow!

The next stop is the Charleston Tea Plantation, America's only tea plantation. We learn how the tea is grown, harvested and processed.

On the way to Beaufort we drive past the Marine Corps Air Station and after all these years Martijn is still able to identify most of the aircraft that are on display at the entrance. Airplane fix for the day achieved.

We all get a giggle out of shopping at Piggly Wiggly.
